Scroll Usage 101

There seems to be a lot of confusion about what scrolls do and how to use them. I hope the following alleviates that confusion a bit. (I figure I can't possibly make things any worse). It really does make sense once you get a hang of the terminology.
- Scrolls only contain the *recipes* for PROPS. They don't really DO anything.
- When you USE a scroll, your factory "learns" the recipe, and can now make the PROP if the recipe requirements are met. (The game refers to this as "binding" the scroll to the factory. I prefer "learned". Shoot me.)
- Your factory uses the recipes "learned" from scrolls to make PROPS of the same name as the scroll (yes, this is VERY confusing!!)
- Scrolls can be used/learned at ANY TIME. The stated requirements apply to actual production of the Prop, not USEing the scroll itself.
- Once learned, your factory knows the recipe forever, so you only need one of any specific scroll.
- Once your factory knows the recipe, the USE button of the scroll will be greyed out. That means it is an excess scroll so feel free to sell it, it's of no other use to you.
- To see what recipes your factory "knows": My Factory> roduction> rop Production
- That is also where you instruct your factory to make the specified PROPS (rather than Goods)
- You will, of course, need to meet the requirements and have the necessary MATERIALS called for by the recipe in order to make the PROP.
*** Once you have manufactured the Prop, USE the PROP to generate the promised RAW MATERIAL, etc. ***
- RAW MATERIALS are used by your factory to produce GOODS. MATERIALS are used by your factory to produce PROPS. |
